Mother of two wins $30,000 prize on Cash Craze Crossword game
Dundalk resident Crystal Pinter was overjoyed after scratching her way to a $30,000 scratch-off win on one of her favorite games. She enjoys taking her time when she plays scratch-offs, which is why she always picks crossword- and bingo-style games. Her big win came on Cash Craze Crossword.
The lucky player stopped in the Speedy Mart, located at 7452 German Hill Road in Dundalk, to pick up some snacks last week. While there, she purchased a $20 mix of bingo and crossword scratch-off games. It was early the next morning that she actually played the tickets.
“I was restless so I decided to get up and scratch them,” she said. “The very first one was the winner.”
Because she often plays these kinds of tickets, the 42-year-old knew by counting the words that she won $30,000.
Crystal said she wasn’t able to sleep after the excitement of discovering that she won, adding that all of her hollering kept everyone else in the house awake, too. Her son and other family members were by her side as she claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters two days later.
The mother of two teenagers said she’ll save some of the prize money and will use some of it to spoil her children.
The Cash Craze Crossword game still has five unclaimed $30,000 top prizes, along with five $10,000 prizes, and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $3 to $5,000. The retailer is a winner as well. For selling the top-prize-winning scratch-off, Speedy Mart will receive a $300 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
