June 2 drawing creates 18,657 total Maryland winners
Two Maryland Powerball players enjoyed an unforgettable night on June 2, when the drawing generated a pair of third-tier winning tickets each worth $50,000.
Players bought the lucky tickets at Plaza Liquors, located at 5722 Wabash Avenue in Baltimore, and at Walmart #3780, located at 303 Fallston Boulevard in Fallston. They are the 26th and 27th players in Maryland to win $50,000 Powerball prizes in 2021.
Although no one hit the jackpot, there were 18,657 total winners in Maryland of prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000. The winning numbers to match are 6, 7, 11, 66 and 67; the Powerball was 19 and the Power Play multiplier was 3.
Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
The $50,000 winners can claim their prizes by mail, in person by appointment or by dropping off a completed claim form and the winning ticket in the dropbox at Maryland Lottery headquarters, 1800 Washington Blvd., Baltimore.
Winners of smaller prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos, by appointment or by dropping off the completed claims form. The Powerball jackpot rolled to $286 million for the Saturday, June 5 drawing, with a cash option of $196.6 million.
