Claims top prize on CASH instant ticket
A happy Hanover dad who ignored advice to quit playing Maryland Lottery scratch-offs wound up in the Lottery Winner’s Circle, sharing the story of his $250,000 top-prize win.
The Anne Arundel County resident found Lottery luck at Telegraph Exxon in Severn, which is his retailer of choice for Lottery games. The 50-year-old bought three scratch-offs and one of them was the $10 CASH game that delivered the big win.
“I had to pause for a long while,” the lucky winner said, recalling the moment he noticed his matching number 40 appeared over the game’s top prize. Not completely believing his eyes, the player had his mother check the instant ticket with him to confirm his good fortune.
The advice to stop playing Lottery games came from his daughter. Even though he is bringing home $250,000, the happy father doesn’t plan to tell her about his Lottery luck. Instead, he will use his prize to invest in his daughter’s education. When asked of other plans for the windfall, the loyal player said he’s still taking it all in and will probably make some investments.
Telegraph Exxon also shares in the fun. The Anne Arundel County retailer located at 805 Reece Road will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $250,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. This instant ticket went on sale in February and has two top prizes remaining and seven unclaimed $10,000 prizes.
