This frequent scratch-off player is turning his $500,000 worth of Lottery luck into financing for a future business.
Player wants to open a business with his winnings
Some people seem to have all of the luck and a Baltimore Lottery player who just won the top prize in a $500,000 Crossword scratch-off game may be one of them.
Our winner, whose native country is Guatemala, is a frequent – and lucky – Lottery player. By his own calculations, the player going by the nickname “Jerlin Abel” for Lottery publicity has won at least 30 scratch-off prizes. The 26-year-old says the day that he bought the $500,000 winning instant ticket was just like any other day.
The landscaping employee stopped at Hub Wine & Spirits in Baltimore City to buy scratch-offs. He bought and won twice before revealing the $500,000 top prize on the $20 game.
“Jerlin Abel” was so shocked by his win he had trouble sleeping for three days. Now very happy and pleased, he told his family the amazing news. He hopes to start a landscaping company in the future with his prize.
The $500,000 Crossword game went on sale in September 2019 and has three $500,000 top prizes remaining. Players can also search for four more unclaimed $50,000 prizes, 12 $10,000 prizes and more than 380,000 others ranging from $20 to $1,000. Try your luck!
For its role in “Jerlin Abel’s” big win, Hub Wine & Spirits located at 4332 Erdman Avenue in Baltimore City earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
