The Week in Winners: Players in Brooklyn Park, Halethorpe Win First Two $50,000 Prizes in Pick 5

Players across Maryland won nearly $32.5 million during week ending Feb. 6

Maryland Lottery players in Brooklyn Park and Halethorpe landed the first two $50,000 prizes on the new Pick 5 game last week. Meanwhile, another five Pick 5 players won $25,000 each on tickets purchased in Baltimore (two), Hyattsville, Towson and Waldorf.

Pick 5 made its debut on Feb. 7 with daily midday and evening drawings alongside Pick 3 and Pick 4. It offers a range of 13 different bet types, and the top prize is $50,000 for hitting the Pick 5 on a straight $1 bet. The payout for hitting the Pick 5 on a straight bet of 50 cents is $25,000.

In addition, scratch-off players in Dundalk, Joppa and Randallstown claimed $100,000 prizes last week. In all, 32 players across the state won or claimed prizes of $10,000 or more, and the Lottery paid nearly $32.5 million in prizes in the seven days ending Feb. 13.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets up to and including $600. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
