Players found Lottery luck at Ellicott City, Westminster retailers
Although no one won the Powerball jackpot on Saturday, Maryland’s lucky players scored 82,759 prizes ranging from $4 to a pair of $50,000 winners.
The Maryland Lottery is looking for the players who bought $50,000-winning tickets at 7-Eleven #39193 located at 4882 Montgomery Road in Ellicott City and Winfield Liquors located at 1707 West Liberty Road in Westminster. The winning numbers were 14, 20, 39, 65 and 67; the Powerball was 2 and the Power Play multiplier x3. With the jackpot rolling, Maryland has now had six winners of Powerball’s $50,000 third-tier prize so far in 2021.
Because no one hit the jackpot, players can now try to win $730 million in the Wednesday, Jan. 20 drawing. The jackpot carries a cash option of $546 million. If won, this would be the 4th-largest jackpot in Powerball game history and 6th-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. This is the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since March 2019.
Also, Mega Millions and Powerball now have combined jackpots over $1.5 billion for the Tuesday and Wednesday drawings. This is the highest the combined jackpots have been since October 2018 when a $1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot was hit in South Carolina.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in safe locations. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The $50,000 winners can claim their prizes by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery headquarters’ Customer Resource Center located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Winners of smaller prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos or by appointment at Lottery headquarters.
