Wednesday’s jackpot rolls to estimated annuity of $1.2 billion
Check your Powerball tickets from last night’s drawing because you could be a big winner! Even though no one hit the estimated $1.04 billion jackpot on Monday, there was a $100,000 winning ticket sold in Howard County and a $50,000 winning ticket purchased in Prince George’s County.
A player bought the third-tier $100,000 winning ticket at Crestmount Wine & Spirits located at 7968 Washington Boulevard in Jessup. Adding Power Play to the lucky ticket doubled the prize from $50,000.
The $50,000 ticket was sold at Bowie Exxon located at 1500 Northwest Crain Highway in Bowie. Maryland has now sold 54 third-tier winning Powerball tickets in 2023.
Check your tickets for a match with the winning numbers in the Oct. 2 drawing: 12, 26, 27, 43 and 47; the Powerball was 5 and the Power Play multiplier was X2. Maryland had a total of 57,320 winners of $4 to $100,000 in the Monday drawing.
Since no one in the country matched the exact numbers, Powerball continued its roll. The Wednesday, Oct. 4 drawing has an estimated annuity of $1.2 billion and an estimated cash value of $551.7 million. This is the third largest jackpot in Powerball history and the seventh largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. The jackpot has now rolled 33 times since it hit for $1.08 billion in California on July 19.
The last Powerball jackpot to hit in Maryland was on Jan. 20, 2021 when a $731.1 million ticket was purchased at Coney Market in Allegany County.
