Powerball Xs & Os is a new draw game presented by Powerball and the National Football League. Weekly drawings will award cash prizes, and second-chance promotional drawings will award exclusive NFL-themed prizes.

Sales of Powerball Xs & Os tickets will be available at all Maryland Lottery retailers beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. Maryland is one of 27 states in the U.S. that will be selling Powerball Xs & Os tickets.

Instead of selecting numbers, players select 8 NFL Team Logos for a weekly drawing. You can select all 8 logos yourself, or have the Lottery terminal randomly quick pick some or all of the logos for you. Each Sunday, 8 winning NFL Team Logos will be drawn from 32 possible NFL Team Logos. Players win cash prizes if their ticket matches at least 4 of the winning Team Logos.

The starting jackpot when the game launches in September 2026 will be $1 million. The jackpot will increase after each drawing that does not produce a jackpot winner. There is no minimum jackpot increase for each roll. After a jackpot is won, the starting jackpot amount will be $1 million.

Each Powerball Xs & Os play costs $5.

Yes. The Powerball Xs & Os playslip allows you to buy up to 10 consecutive drawings. Clerk-operated or self-service terminals allow you to buy up to 13 consecutive drawings.

No. Each Powerball Xs & Os ticket you purchase will have one set of 8 NFL Team Logos. If you wish to play different sets of 8 NFL Team Logos, you will need to purchase separate tickets.

No. Powerball Xs & Os tickets cannot be canceled or voided.

Beginning Sept. 13, 2026, drawings will be held at 10 p.m. Eastern time every Sunday, 52 weeks a year, using a digital drawing system that will randomly select 8 winning NFL Team Logos.

On Sundays, sales for that night’s drawing close at 9 p.m. Eastern time.

The game is offered in partnership between Powerball and the NFL. However, Powerball Xs & Os is a separate game from Powerball.

Yes. There will be promotional prize drawings for NFL-themed prizes that will be open to anyone who enters their Powerball Xs & Os tickets via the powerballofficial.com website. Winning and non-winning Powerball Xs & Os tickets are eligible for entry starting Sept. 8, 2026. Entries for promotional prize drawings can also be made via the Powerball mobile app, which is scheduled to launch on Oct. 5, 2026. Each $5 ticket provides 5 entries.

No. The Powerball Xs & Os promotional drawings for NFL-themed prizes will be operated exclusively through powerballofficial.com starting Sept. 8, 2026 and the Powerball mobile app that is scheduled to launch on Oct. 5, 2026.

Maryland Lottery players can also enter their Powerball Xs & Os tickets into My Lottery Rewards, which is the Maryland Lottery’s player loyalty program.

The Powerball Xs & Os promotional prize program and My Lottery Rewards are operated separately and require separate login credentials. Entering your Powerball Xs & Os ticket into My Lottery Rewards will not also enter it into the Powerball Xs & Os promotional program, nor vice-versa. You must enter the ticket twice (once in each program) if you wish to enter it into both.

The Powerball Xs & Os game and the associated promotional prizes are run by Powerball and available to players in 27 states including Maryland. My Lottery Rewards is open exclusively to Maryland Lottery players.

There will be weekly prize drawings for NFL-themed merchandise, bi-weekly drawings for higher-value prizes, and extended entry periods for the premium experiential prizes like trips to NFL Playoff games and the Super Bowl.
