Fort Washington Woman Scratches a $100,000 Winner

Husband delivers top-prize winning Money Bag Multiplier game to wife

A 74-year-old scratch-off lover from Prince George’s County is thanking her husband for her recent big win. Her adoring spouse brought home a $10 Money Bag Multiplier game worth $100,000.

It was about two weeks ago, when the winner’s husband went into the Stop & Shop Convenience Mart in Fort Washington. He knows how much his wife loves scratch-off games, so he purchased one of her favorites, a Money Bag Multiplier instant ticket.

The Lottery player’s husband left the store and went to pick up his wife. He gave her the game and she scratched it off in the car. The lucky woman could not believe what she saw. One of her numbers matched one of the winning numbers and the prize amount read $100,000, the top score on the game.

“I won a little playing this scratch-off in the past,” said the Fort Washington resident, “but I never thought I’d ever win this much.”

While still in the car, the winner showed her husband the lucky instant ticket.

“I said, ‘Yeah, that’s $100,000,’” said the husband, who accompanied her to the Lottery’s Customer Resource Center in Baltimore. Later that evening, they hid the scratch-off in a safe place in the house and made an appointment to claim the prize.

The happy couple said they will use the winnings to pay off the loan on a vehicle and for home improvements. Any funds left over, they said, “will be saved for a rainy day.”

For its role in selling the $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the Stop & Shop Convenience Mart located at 8500 Allentown Road in Fort Washington earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery. Stop by and try your luck. Lots of prizes remain on the Money Bag Multiplier scratch-off including one more $100,000 top prize, four $50,000 prizes, nine $10,000 prizes and many more ranging from $10 to $1,000.
