Quick-Pick Ticket Gives Baltimore Powerball Player a $50,000 Win

A Baltimore man whose favorite games are Powerball, Mega Millions and Pick 4 scored the biggest Lottery win of his life with a $2 quick-pick ticket. The lucky grandfather won a $50,000 third-tier prize in the March 22 Powerball drawing.

He visits numerous Lottery retailers, sometimes buying a quick-pick ticket and sometimes playing a set of personal numbers, the lucky man said. He bought his winning ticket on the morning of the drawing at Dash In #18322 located at 9075 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City. The next morning, he sat down to check the winning numbers.

What was his reaction when he realized his ticket was worth $50,000? “I hurried up and put my name on it,” he said with a laugh. An employee in the transportation sector, the winner said he has no definite plans yet for his prize except to “save it for a rainy day.”

The Powerball jackpot is on a roll and set for an estimated annuity value of $186 million for the Saturday, April 8 drawing. The estimated cash option is $98.9 million.
