Seven other tickets win six-digit prizes as nearly $39.9 million won or claimed during the week ending Oct. 3
A $10 million Powerball Double Play win in Rockville was by far the biggest Maryland Lottery prize of the week ending Oct. 3, but there were dozens of other big winners, including seven prizes of $100,000 or more.
As of Oct. 4, the Lottery was still awaiting the arrival of the big Powerball Double Play winner, who landed the $10 million prize in the Sept. 27 drawing. The lucky Powerball player is the first in the nation to win the top prize in Double Play, a new Powerball optional feature that launched on Aug. 23.
Meanwhile, seven Lottery players also won six-digit prizes last week on tickets sold in California, Cockeysville, Laurel, Mechanicsville, Prince Frederick, Randallstown and Westminster.
In all, 40 players across the state won or claimed prizes of $10,000 or more, and the Lottery paid nearly $39.9 million in prizes in the seven days ending Oct. 3.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to cash tickets up to and including $600. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
