The Week in Winners: Lottery Pays Six Digits in Elkridge, Capitol Heights, Clinton, Glen Burnie, Perry Hall

Players across the state won more than $28.2 million during week ending July 9

A Maryland Lottery player in Elkridge won $550,000 playing Multi-Match, scratch-off tickets put $100,000 in pockets in Capitol Heights, Clinton, Glen Burnie and Perry Hall, and a Racetrax player in Clinton hit for $65,024.80, all in the past week.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot continued to grow, hitting $675 for the July 10 drawing, as no one has hit since a player in Ohio won on April 19. The game has continued to produce noteworthy second and third tier winners, including a win of $50,000 on a ticket sold July 3 in Hagerstown.

Powerball has a total of nine prize tiers. Matching all five white balls without the red Powerball is good for a $1 million prize, and matching four of the five white balls plus the Powerball is good for $50,000, so it’s always worth checking those tickets, even if there’s no jackpot winner.

Powerball drawings are conducted at 10:59 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

In all, 43 tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or redeemed in the seven days ending July 9, and the Lottery paid more than $28.2 million in prizes during that span.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets up to and including $600. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
