Lucky tickets sold in Baltimore, Bowie
Congratulations to the Maryland Powerball players who bought two $50,000-winning tickets in the Wednesday, Jan. 25 drawing. While no one hit the jackpot, there were 33 $50,000 third-tier winning tickets sold across the nation. Maryland had 21,852 total winning tickets in the Jan. 25 drawing, ranging from $4 to $50,000.
The Maryland $50,000 winners bought their lucky tickets at Maiden Choice Liquors, 1064 Maiden Choice Lane in Baltimore, and T&T Liquors, 13801 Annapolis Road in Bowie. The winning numbers were 9, 17, 20, 38 and 40; the Powerball was 18 and the Power Play multiplier was 2.
Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. The Powerball jackpot has rolled to an estimated annuity value of $572 million for the Saturday, Jan. 28 drawing. The estimated cash option is $308.9 million.
Winning Powerball numbers are available at mdlottery.com and on your smartphone by downloading the free MD Lottery app. Powerball is offered in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each. Players can add either Power Play to their tickets for an additional $1 or Double Play for an additional $1 or both for a total ticket cost of $4.
