New Scratch-off Surprises Delivery Driver with $50,000 Package

Ultimate Cash is Harford County man’s new favorite game

It was a welcome change, the delivery driver told Lottery officials this week. For once, the Aberdeen resident said, it was wonderful to be on the receiving end of a special delivery. A $50,000 second-tier prize sent his way by an Ultimate Cash scratch-off really threw him for a loop.

“I’ve been a Lottery customer for years,” said the Harford County man. “It’s fun thinking about a big-money win, it makes playing exciting.” It’s no wonder, then, that while stopping at Herb’s On The Curb convenience store for a cold drink last week, the 57-year-old bought a $10 Ultimate Cash instant ticket.

The craziness began while he sat in his car outside of the Lottery retailer. “I keep whatever coin I used to play my last winner in the car. So, I grabbed my lucky dime and started scratching.”

Uncovering an unfamiliar symbol, the loyal player read the instructions and was shocked to learn he’d won all of the prizes listed on the instant ticket. “I didn’t really believe it, so I checked it with my Lottery App. There it was, a $50,000 win.”

Ultimate Cash is a new game, debuting a little more than a week ago. The $10 scratch-off features eight $100,000 top prizes, all of which remain unclaimed. This win is the first of the game’s 10 $50,000 second-tier prizes claimed. Our winner’s lucky retailer, Herb’s on the Curb, is located at 4000 Chapel Road in Havre de Grace and remains the only store in Maryland to sell a big winning ticket in the game.
