Playing Cruise Ship Cabin Number Leads to $50,000 Pick 5 Win

Belcamp woman claims prize on $1 straight-bet ticket

It was a little scary, a lucky Harford County winner admitted, getting back from a cruise and two weeks later seeing her five-digit cruise ship cabin number win $50,000 in the July 4 Pick 5 evening drawing.

The 78-year-old, who plays Lottery games frequently, bought her $1 straight-bet ticket at All in One Convenience Store located at 1327 Policy Drive in Belcamp. The retailer is where the Belcamp resident normally stops to buy Lottery tickets. On July 4, she purchased tickets for that evening’s Pick 5 drawing as well as tickets for several upcoming midday and evening drawings.

The lucky player learned later that night that she had a winning ticket and that’s when the excitement set in. She plans to use her prize to pay bills and make home repairs. A retired IT professional, the winner enjoys reading, cooking and line dancing in her spare time.

Her lucky retailer, All in One Convenience Store, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a winning Pick 5 ticket worth $50,000.
