Surprised Winner Nearly Blacks Out Upon Discovering Top-Prize Win

Columbia man claims $100,000 prize on Hot 7s Multiplier instant ticket

A lucky Howard County resident is quite accustomed to playing Lottery games and winning small prizes. In fact, the lucky man won $10,000 on a scratch-off a few years ago. However, his newest scratch-off prize had a few more zeros than he was used to seeing and everything temporarily became a blur when he discovered the $100,000 win.

The 45-year-old frequently buys gas and Lottery tickets at Long Gate Mobil gas station located at 4398 Montgomery Road in Ellicott City. One day, he was playing a different scratch-off when he suddenly noticed the $10 Hot 7s Multiplier instant ticket. He figured he would give the game a try and for that he received a six-figure payday.

“I nearly blacked out,” the Columbia resident said, recalling the moment he discovered the big win. Once he gathered his composure, the loyal player was able to celebrate. He even showed the lucky scratch-off to the store clerk, who was also quite excited. The happy winner works as an executive protection agent. He’s also a proud husband and father of five children. He says he currently has no plans for his winnings except to take care of his family.

Long Gate Mobil wins, too. The Howard County business will receive a $1,000 bonus for its role in selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $100,000. The Hot 7s Multiplier instant ticket went on sale in May with eight $100,000 top prizes. There are still four top prizes remaining along with 20 $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
